Case Analysis Effectiveness

I found the process used for the case analysis very effective in researching and addressing a specific issue.  What I like most is the specific format outline and methodical approach.  Projects are easier to work when a standardized approach is taken.   I also found it helpful to have a rough draft requirement versus trying to drive straight towards a final paper.  Peer review is extremely helpful and I feel that is a necessary requirement whether in school or at work.  However, I think it would be more helpful to have the same person review the case analysis from beginning to end.  Changing peers for each review makes it a bit more difficult for the person getting up to speed on the topic to digest recent changes or additions to the project.  This would be somewhat similar to changing team members on a project midway through, which is something I rarely experience in my line of work.  Its possible but more challenging and not as efficient.  With that being said for this assignment, I found it beneficial reading multiple papers and gaining insight on various UAS topics and issues.  Another area that could use improvement, and the same is true in my line of work, is setting deadlines.  Everyone’s workload is different throughout a given week but setting a mid week deadline might be better then waiting until the last day.  This gives the person or team time to review comments and provide adequate feedback.  Also communication through email if face to face isn’t available makes the review process more effective.

I cannot say I have been exposed to the Case Analysis tool prior to this class but have worked projects using a similar format.  I find it advantageous to have another tool and perspective for tackling projects and issues in school and at work.
